Our Community for Christian women!
Walking by the Way
Navigating through conflicts and
personal life changes together
Sure, our schedules are overloaded. Yes, we are distressed by disagreements that keep ending up in arguments. Of course, we struggle because of the difficult circumstances we encounter.
What about the cumulative effect of our concerns? It can feel like a vice grip is tightening and squeezing the life out of us.
What puzzles me is why we settle for a “solo approach" to manage our concerns and achieve our goals. As human beings, we were designed to live and flourish in communities - specifically, in a safe community. Learning and growing really are better together.
Your membership in Walking by the Way’s private, virtual community provides you with opportunities for monthly live training and group calls, and resources, plus interaction and encouragement with other Christian women, like yourself.

Hi, I’m Susan!
As a Christian counselor and Coach. I bring broad personal and professional experience, education, and training to my work with Christian women, both in person and through online coaching and courses. In 2008 I founded Between Steps in Clemson, South Carolina to help Christian women navigate the pressures of life so they can live confident, productive, and strong.
My mission is now carried out under the brand, Susan Millsaps (https://susanmillsaps.com). As a writer, I love putting life experience, lessons learned, and my faith into words through my blog, "Of Crooked Trees and Long Roads" (https://susanmillsaps.com/blog). Today, my husband, Barry, and I split work time between the old homeplace in Robbinsville, North Carolina, and our home in Clemson, South Carolina.
We are life-long enthusiasts of family time, mountain time, music time, and Bible time. Favorite days start with long chats over hot coffee in our woodland cove. Together we love exploring new ideas, places, and local food spots. Our hikes and travels often include detours to search for new clues about old ancestors from our beloved Southern Appalachians. For extra fun, we are expanding our love of Old-Time Mountain Music and Bluegrass music and sharing the joy as "Ridgeline Harmony."
